Height: 12" Length: 24" Wood: butternut  Finish: Polyurethane Dragon Plaque This is a pattern I developed.  It has a little influence from a hippocampus weathervane I carved.  The rest is just elements from my fascination with dragons.  The initial blank of wood is simple 1" thick butternut stock.  This is usually easier to find than the thicker 2"-4" carving stock, and is a great introduction to carving butternut.  Scroll down for detail pictures.   PATTERN
